Okay, I’m sure you’ve noticed the LUCIFER-related fan fiction on the site, and there’s a good reason for it.
I fell in love with the television series (which is based on the Neil Gaiman graphic novel series of the same name) when it debuted on FOX in January of 2016. The show was delightful as Hell (no pun intended), with fun, smart characters, great writing, and a production staff that has clearly paid a lot of attention to the idea of continuity.
There have been no “Tigers” in this show, and I really like that fact.
The fan fiction came about when the show was on a long hiatus between seasons three and four after being rescued at the eleventh hour by the Netflix streaming service, and the LuciDrought was well-nigh unbearable. The series has a sense of humor that is addictive, and not having fresh stuff to watch was difficult, so I had to find outlets for that frustration.
The best way I found to work through it was to write my own LUCIFER-themed stories, but I did my best to stick to what I had seen on the show and not go far afield with what I was creating. I felt that if I strayed, I would be doing a disservice to the show’s amazing writers.
The first story in the collection, COITUS INTERRUPTUS, is a scene that takes place the first time Lucifer and the Detective have sex after he returns to Earth. Interestingly, in now having seen what happened in season five, it could very well have happened as I wrote it, so it can be a happy part of my own head canon without changing the story.
Anyhow, if you’re into the show and are caught up to the end of season four, it’s pretty safe to read what I’ve written, and I’d love to get your feedback on what you find there.
